Cosmos Hurler Noftall Tosses Masterpiece
Tuesday, May 4th , 2049
Ron Noftall bent a little, but he didn't break against the Burlington Jack Rabbits. The Dearborn Cosmos pitcher hurled a 2-hit 1-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 3 walks and tallying 7 strikeouts.
"Ron is good at getting out of jams," Cosmos manager told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
Noftall has made 6 starts so far this year and put up a 2-4 won-lost record with a 4.79 ERA. In 35.2 innings he has allowed 36 hits, walked 16 and struck out 30.

Hitting Streak Still Alive for Davis
Monday, May 3rd , 2049
With 1 hit at TP Stadium today, Ken Davis added another game to his hitting streak -- the Tinley Park left fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Thoroughbreds today, as they fell, 2-1, to the St. Catharines Saints.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," St. Catharines manager said later. "I'll let him get 1 hits in 1 at-bat if it means we get a win." Ken Davis singled in the 8th.
This season Davis is batting .296 with 32 hits, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, 11 walks, .367 OBP and has scored 24 runs. He has played in 29 games.
