Chicago's Gonzáles, Lake Michigan POY Award Winner Tuesday, October 13th , 2048 With speculation about his retirement gaining steam last offseason, Architects ace José Gonzáles had something to prove. He proved it in award-winning style as he accepted the USA Lake Michigan POY Award today. The veteran Chicago hurler posted a record of 11 wins and 8 losses this year with a 1.97 ERA. In 29 starts he struck out 176 and walked 45 in 191.2 innings. Ralph Baxter of the Detroit Thunderbirds finished second in voting, while Billy Hill of the Milwaukee Eagles finished third. |
