Leroy Slugs Waveriders to 5-3 Win
|
The Owen Sound Waveriders beat the Hamilton Mounties, 5-3, at Waveriders Ballpark. The win was due in part to left fielder Josselin Leroy, who was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. With the victory, the Waveriders upped their record to 24-22.
Leroy had a key at-bat for Owen Sound early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Owen Sound an early 3-0 lead.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Owen Sound manager John Meeker.
