Neptunes Rally For Late Win Over Thunderbirds
Detroit got a terrific performance from pitcher Ralph Baxter, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toledo Neptunes. Toledo won the Thunderbirds Ballpark contest, 4-2. Baxter threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Toledo is now 19-22, while Detroit is 16-25.

Toledo used the timely hitting of Miguel Suárez to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Neptunes on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Suárez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
