Vigilantes Lose to Mounties, 7-5
The Hamilton Mounties withstood an impressive performance by Windsor left fielder Felipe Valdéz to defeat the Vigilantes, 7-5, at Harbour Field. Valdéz was 3-4 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Hamilton pitcher Carlos Pérez got the win. He's now 2-4. Roger Horne was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Juan Sánchez, his 9th.

The Mounties got an important contribution from right fielder Wilson Meléndez, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 2-0 fastball into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Mounties ahead, 5-2.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Meléndez told the Hamilton Today.

The Vigilantes, at 14-16, have lost 4 in a row.
