Windsor Bats Go Silent in 6-0 Loss
|
Thunder Bay center fielder Romain Lemaire had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Windsor Vigilantes, 6-0. Al Pellerin earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 3-0. The win brings the Caribou to 16-11, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The Caribou got a big at-bat from second baseman Gustavo Gómez. For the game, Gómez was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Thunder Bay a 1-0 lead.
"We had a nice day," said Thunder Bay skipper Daniel Mays.
