Architects Lose to Mounties, 4-2
|
The Hamilton Mounties got a stellar performance from pitcher Lewis MacEwen, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Pier IV Grounds. The Mounties have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 5th win in 17 games.
Hamilton used a well-timed hit by Wilson Meléndez to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Mounties ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
MacEwen called the win "a collective effort."
