Mounties Rally For 7-4 Win
|
The Hamilton Mounties had to overcome a big game from Kingston first baseman Art Loder to leave Harbour Field with a victory. And they did, winning 7-4. Loder was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Juan Sánchez, credited with the save, is now 34 for 36 in save opportunities. The 5th-place Mounties have won 4 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Robert Leroy came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Kingston pitcher Santiago Costa, he hit a 1-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Hamilton on top, 5-4.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Leroy. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
