Mounties Lose to Bears, 4-3
|
The Traverse City Bears weathered a fine game by Hamilton left fielder Glen Dickie to upend the Mounties, 4-3, at The Den. Dickie was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ken Shannon earned his 11th save in 15 chances. With the win, Traverse City upped its record to 67-61.
Billy Williams had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Traverse City. He came through with a 2-run single to put Traverse City in front, 4-3.
Williams called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
