Bears Take Down Architects, 1-0
|
Larry Walker never let Chicago get something going. The Traverse City right-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Bears to a 1-0 win. Ken Shannon came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 6-2. With the win, Traverse City upped its record to 64-59.
Traverse City used a clutch hit from Pedro Morales to get the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bears ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Chicago manager Alex Wobbema.
