Caribou Take Down Comets, 1-0
|
The Caribou grabbed a win, 1-0, at Caribou Field, overcoming a fine effort from Kingston pitcher Juan Bojórquez. Bojórquez went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Ricardo Márquez picked up the win in relief for Thunder Bay, while Ralph Lapthorne took the loss. With the victory, the Caribou upped their record to 58-54.
Thunder Bay won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Ralph Lapthorne on the mound for Kingston, first baseman Wade Hepburn hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Caribou fans to their feet.
In postgame comments, Hepburn said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
