Thunder Bay rode a good effort from starter Steve Klassen to beat the Kingston Comets at Caribou Field. The final score was 4-2. Klassen, now 10-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing no runs. With the win, Thunder Bay raised its record to 34-30.
Scott Robertson, who is a three-time All-Star, chipped in for Thunder Bay with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
After the game, Thunder Bay manager Daniel Mays applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
