The Thunder Bay Caribou and Hamilton Mounties put on a pitchers' duel.
Hamilton got a big-time effort from pitcher Carlos Pérez, but it wasn't enough to keep the Thunder Bay Caribou from winning the game, 2-0. Pérez threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Thunder Bay goes to 29-19. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
The Caribou had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 2-0, Thunder Bay, with one out. Hamilton, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Aaron Bennett dug in at the plate, but on a 0-2 fastball, he struck out.
