Comets Earn 4-3 Win Versus Vigilantes
|
The Kingston Comets walked off with a big win.
Kingston starter Dan Floyd pitched well against the Windsor Vigilantes at Comet Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Kingston reliever José Álvarez was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Luke Mews took the loss.
Kingston won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With two outs and Luke Mews on the mound for Windsor, pinch hitter Héctor Zapata hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Comets fans to their feet.
Zapata called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The Comets improved to 18-24.
