Architects Shut Out Neptunes, 6-0
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Chicago Architects starter Jay Bryant was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Toledo Neptunes, 6-0. The winning pitcher was Bryant, now 6-0. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5.
Daniel Huffman, who led the USA in wins above replacement with 8.2 in 2034, came through for Chicago with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. The first baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 3 runs batted in.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Toledo manager Bill Atteberry.
Chicago now has a record of 23-19 with the win.
