Late Magic Gets Thunder Bay 4-2 Win
The Thunder Bay Caribou had to overcome a fine effort from Toronto pitcher Steffen Brooks to grab a narrow 4-2 win at Ontario Ballpark. Brooks went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Mark Sabine earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 4-4. Al Pellerin recorded the save, his 1st.

Thunder Bay used the clutch hitting of Gustavo Gómez to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Caribou the lead, 4-2. For the game, Gómez had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Thunder Bay manager Daniel Mays.

The win elevated the Caribou to 18-15.
