Toronto Beats Hamilton, 3-2
|
The Toronto Maples downed the Hamilton Mounties, 3-2, at Harbour Field. John McIlmoyle led the way, going 2-for-3 for Toronto. Hervé Smart was called on to finish, recording his 6th save. The Mounties fall to 10-16.
McIlmoyle had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-0 fastball from Wally Howard, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Maples a 3-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for McIlmoyle.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said McIlmoyle. "Obviously."
